Winter is here, and with it comes lower temperatures, snow, and ice. Keep the cold out this year. With a Home Energy Squad (HES) visit, you can understand your home energy needs and create a plan to address them.
HES and New Hope partner to provide free and reduced-cost visits for residents interested in making energy efficiency improvements. These visits, which are provided by Xcel Energy and CenterPoint Energy and delivered by Center for Energy and Environment, offer a way to better understand your energy use at home. During your visit, a trained energy consultant will come to your home, identify ways to improve your energy efficiency, and make some same-day improvements, like installing LED lightbulbs, door weather-stripping, a programmable or smart thermostat and more as needed. After the visit, your energy consultant will provide a customized report of their findings, including additional energy-saving recommendations and resources on how to get started on recommended projects.
HES offers two visit types depending on your home. The Energy Saver Visit is recommended for single-family houses built after 2000, mobile homes, condominiums and renters. The Energy Planner Visit is ideal for houses built before 2000. You'll get valuable information about your home no matter what type of visit you receive.
New Hope’s partnership with HES makes residents eligible for free or reduced-price visits. Let us help you achieve your home energy goals. Schedule a visit by calling 651-328-6220 or by visiting mncee.org/newhope.
