Citizens' Police Academy
The New Hope, Crystal and Robbinsdale Police Departments offer a Citizens' Police Academy each fall for adult community members of the three cities, of all ages and backgrounds, who want to learn more about their local police department.
The no-cost classes are held each fall and run for six weeks, beginning in September. Space is limited and participants must commit to attending all six classes. The deadline to apply for the 2021 Citizens' Police Academy is Sept. 7 at 3 p.m.
Please note: A brief background check is conducted on all applicants.

Most instructors are New Hope, Crystal or Robbinsdale police officers. Topics include patrol tactics investigations, narcotics, crime scene processing, juvenile crime, police dispatch, court procedures, use of force, canine demonstrations and crime prevention strategies.
