The annual New Hope Snowman/Snow Sculpture contest faced a challenge this year due to the lack of snowfall. However, a late-season snow accumulation led to a rush of end-of-contest submissions, showing the creativity of the City’s residents. Susan Rader, the City’s director of parks and recreation, mentioned at the New Hope City Council meeting on April 23 that despite initial doubts, they received quite a few late-contest submissions after the snow arrived.

The winners of this year’s contest are:

• First Place: “Snow Riders” by Zavier and Rosalyn Saez
• Second Place: “Delivery Hamster” by Miles Witter
• Third Place: “Jack Frost Skellington” by Remi Johnson

The New Hope Citizen Advisory Commission sponsors the annual contest, which is open to individuals, families, neighborhoods and groups within the city. Entrants had until March 31 to submit their creations. This year, the City received 12 contest entries, which were voted upon by the New Hope Citizen Advisory Commission. Contest winners were given the option of a cash prize or a gift certificate for New Hope Parks and Recreation programming. You can view photos of the winners and all entries below.
