Citywide spring street sweeping is scheduled to start on April 14. Sweeping takes approximately one week to complete. Spring street sweeping is more than just keeping roads clean; it helps protect our wetlands, lakes and streams by removing the trash, salt and debris that accumulates over the winter months.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

•  Avoid parking on streets during sweeping. Vehicles block sweepers and slow the
  process.
• Keep grass, leaves and yard waste out of streets and gutters. City Code prohibits placing yard waste in the street. Debris can wash into storm drains and waterways, causing pollution, algae blooms and low oxygen levels that harm aquatic life. It can also clog drains and cause water to pool on roads.
