Minnesota Statutes require that local candidates’ Campaign Financial Reports be filed and posted on the City’s website. Reports must remain publicly available for four years from the date they are posted.
An initial report must be filed within 14 days after a candidate or committee receives contributions or makes expenditures exceeding $750 in a calendar year.
The City Clerk’s Office is responsible for accepting and posting submitted reports but does not interpret or enforce campaign finance or campaign practices laws.
Complaints regarding campaign finance or campaign practices violations under Minnesota Statutes Chapters 211A or 211B are handled by the Minnesota Office of Administrative Hearings.
