Seasonal Jobs - Parks and Recreation

Spring and Summer  

Playground Leader (June-July) Positions filled for 2024.

Must be age 15 or older. Supervise and monitor organized activities at neighborhood parks. Activities will include games, sports, dramatics, music, nature and crafts.

Softball Umpire (May-August)  Positions filled for 2024.

Applicants over age 18 preferred. Officiate adult softball games, including starting and ending the game, enforcing rules and making judgement calls on plays.

Field Attendant (May-August)  Positions filled for 2024.

Must be age 16 or older with valid driver's license. Provide a safe and positive environment for user groups at the city's outdoor athletic facilities. Must be adaptable to changes in work schedule due to inclement weather. 

Pool (June-August)  All positions filled for 2024.     

  • Guest Services/Concessions/Slide Attendants: Provide customer service in various locations including Guest Services, Concessions, and Slide Towers. Must be age 15 or older.  
  • Lifeguard: Ensure a safe pool environment by enforcing rules, operating pool safety equipment, and administering first aid when needed. Must be age 15 or older. Certification required. 
  • Water Safety Instructor: Provide swimming instruction in a safe, positive environment. Current certifications required. Must be age 15 or older.
  • Maintenance: Responsible for the cleanliness and care of the pool facility under the direction of the Pool Manager. Must be age 15 or older. 

Year Round

Gym Attendant  (Positions currently filled).

Must be 15 or older. Provide supervision and security of New Hope Community Gyms. Includes set-up and take-down of equipment for activities, community relations and light maintenance.

Zamboni Driver/Rink Attendant

Must be 16 or older with valid driver's license. Training provided. Also responsible for maintenance duties as assigned. Evening and Weekend shifts available at New Hope Ice Arena.

Fall and Winter

Warming House Attendant (December-February)

Must be age 15 or older. Includes supervision of warming house building and outdoor skating rinks in New Hope's parks, as well as light maintenance. Evening and weekend shifts available.
