New Hope City Code Online

The entire New Hope City Code is available online. The City Code contains all local laws and regulations (called 'ordinances') stipulating how things are done in New Hope.

The online City Code is fully searchable, and there is a table of contents to help New Hope residents and businesspeople easily find the information they are looking for -- whether that be information about local ordinances related to dogs and cats, waste enclosure requirements or setback specifications for a building expansion.

How to Use the Site

To begin, click the Municode link below (please note: you will be leaving the City of New Hope website). The New Hope City Code will open in a new window with a table of contents on the left. There is a search box at the top of the page, and search results will appear at the bottom of the screen.

Locate your topic of interest in the table of contents or enter a keyword or phrase in the search box. If your search yields too many results, you can refine the search results by clicking on 'advanced search.' 

Proposed Ordinances

Per Minnesota Statute 415.19, the City of New Hope posts proposed ordinances on this page to maintain transparency with the public. Ordinances are posted at least ten days before the city council meeting at which the proposed ordinance is scheduled to be voted upon. Proposed ordinances are removed from this listing after the meeting.

New Ordinances

There is typically a delay of several weeks between the time a new ordinance is adopted and when it appears in the online city code. New ordinances will be posted here for at least 90 days after taking take effect.

 23-04 Aug. 14, 2023 An ordinance amending chapter 11 of the New Hope City Code by adding section 11-15 prohibiting cannabis use on public property.
23-06 Aug. 28, 2023 An ordinance amending section 9-70 maintenance of vegetation and weed elimination in the New Hope City Code.
