Insight and recommendations from several advisory boards and commissions help to bring a community-wide perspective to New Hope policy discussions.
Each of New Hope’s four standing advisory groups focus on a different range of issues. Local residents and business people are appointed by the City Council and meet regularly to discuss issues of local importance and make recommendations to the Council. Advisory commission members serve the community as volunteers.

The city of New Hope is accepting applications for openings
on the Human Rights Commission, Citizen Advisory Commission and Personnel Board.
Applicants must be New Hope residents or members of the business community.
Meetings are usually held one night per month. Applications will be accepted
through December 31. Commission descriptions and applications are available are
on-line www.newhopemn.gov or by calling
763-531-5117. Appointments will be made by the City Council following applicant
interviews.
West Metro Fire Relief Association
The West Metro Fire-Rescue District (WMFRD) Board of
Directors is seeking one Crystal or New Hope resident
with financial management background to serve as a trustee on the West
Metro Firefighters Relief Association. Appointments are one year. Firefighters
and elected officials are excluded. The West Metro Fire-Rescue District
provides fire services to the cities of Crystal and New Hope through response,
prevention and education. The West Metro Fire Relief Association oversees its
membership’s monthly benefit service pension and is managed by a board of nine
