National Night Out, New Hope's Night to Unite is an annual community-building campaign that takes place each year on the first Tuesday in August (Aug. 6 in 2019). We will have extra staff on hand during the hours of 6-9 p.m. to make visits to as many of the registered events as we can.
National Night Out/Night to Unite is designed to promote police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our New Hope neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. It is a great opportunity to speak with police officers, city staff, elected officials, and representatives from organizations that serve the city of New Hope under positive circumstances.
Neighborhoods host a variety of different events including block parties, cookouts, ice cream socials, sharing of safety and crime prevention strategies, visits from police, neighborhood walks, contests and much more.
Download the registration form here. Register by July 1, 2019, for your best chance to get a particular visitor at your event and to be eligible to receive picnic supplies including plates, napkins, and silverware courtesy of the New Hope Crime Prevention Fund Board.
The required paperwork for a block party is available year-round below. The block party paperwork is only needed if you intend to block the street for a block party set up in the roadway. If your group wants to block the street, completed paperwork (both Appendix A and the Request for Barricades) is due July 23. (earlier than what is stated on the forms). For events any other time of year, follow the directions on the form.
Please contact Officer Nichole Korth at 763-531-5140 or [email protected] with any questions or for further assistance. We look forward to working together to prevent crime and improve safety in New Hope!
