It may be spring, but Monday night's New Hope City Council meeting was all about snow as the 2021/2022 Snowman/Snow Sculpture Contest winners were announced and recognized.

This year's contest win goes to Caroline, Isaac and Owen Donnay for "Snowie the Goalie." The creation features a frosty goaltender, suited up and guarding the net.

Second place in the contest goes to Cy Dargay with "Let's Have a Snowball Fight," featuring a sculpted snow cannon and pyramid of snowball ammunition.

In third place is "Snow Buddies" by Kristen and Caleb Wambach, a toddler-sized traditional snowman adorned with cozy winter wear.

The annual contest is in its fifth year, sponsored by the New Hope Citizen Advisory Commission. Entrants had until March 31 to submit their creations and the competition was open to individuals, families, neighborhoods and groups within the city. Contest winners were given their choice of a cash prize or gift certificate for New Hope Parks and Recreation programming.
