After clock strikes midnight on Halloween, what does your pumpkin turn into? How about changing it into valuable compost!

Pumpkins are great to compost if you have a backyard compost bin. If you don’t do your own composing, no worries! New Hope residents use the free drop off container in Brooklyn Park.

From now, through Tuesday, Nov. 6, you can bring your old pumpkin to Central Park across the street from Brooklyn Park’s Operations & Maintenance facility, 8300 Noble Ave. N. Please remove all candles, candle wax and decorations before disposal.

Dropped off pumpkins will be made into compost that will be used to make healthy soil and landscapes in the local area.
