Introducing New Hope City Academy
Posted on 04/15/2024

The New Hope City Academy is a free seven-week course designed to educate participants about how their local government operates. It provides a hands-on learning experience, allowing participants to interact with city staff, gain insights into how the City of New Hope is managed and operated, and develop a better understanding of the challenges faced by municipal government. At the end of the academy, participants will be equipped to become stewards in helping to create a more engaged community.

The academy involves presentations from city officials, department directors, and city staff. Participants will also tour city facilities and get a behind-the-scenes look at how the departments operate.

Classes will be held weekly for seven weeks starting in June. To gain the most from the program, participants are required to attend all seven weeks. Participants will have a chance to hear from members of:

  • Administration
  • Community Development
  • Parks and Recreation
  • Public Works
  • Police
  • Fire
