City Recognizes Longtime Commissioner

At 18 years of serving on New Hope's Planning Commission, Commissioner Jim Brinkman is stepping down. The City recognized Brinkman at the Jan. 23 New Hope City Council meeting for his longtime service to the community.

Brinkman was appointed to the Planning Commission in 2005 and served on its City Center Task Force, Livable Communities Task Force, Ice Arena Business Plan Committee and Business Promotion Committee. Brinkman also provided guidance and input as a member of the Design and Review and Codes and Standards subcommittees.

Throughout his time on the commission, Brinkman contributed his knowledge and input on countless residential, commercial and industrial developments within New Hope, including Hy-Vee, the Centra Homes Parkview housing development and the IronWood apartment complex on Bass Lake Road.
