2023 Infrastructure Improvement Project

At the September 26 New Hope City Council meeting, the City of New Hope accepted the Feasibility Report for the proposed 2023 Infrastructure Improvement Project, and authorized a public hearing to be held on October 24, 2022. This project would begin in the spring of 2023. A map of the affected streets can be viewed at the link below.

The project map identifies streets in orange as proposed “reclaim and overlay” improvements. A reclaim and overlay road improvement involves removing the entire pavement section of the roadway down to the gravel base. Roadways will remain gravel, typically for two to three weeks, while the contractor performs subgrade repairs on the road base. Roadways will then be re-paved with a full new layer of pavement. The reclaim and overlay roads that also have water main replacements scheduled are identified by a blue line on the project map.

The project map identifies streets in purple as proposed "mill and overlay" roadways. This type of road improvement involves removing the top layer of pavement. Any subsurface repairs will then occur on the remaining road pavement. Three weeks after the initial pavement removal, roadways will be re-paved with a full new layer of pavement.

Also included with the 2023 Infrastructure Improvements, drainage improvements will be completed near a stormwater outfall to Meadow Lake.
